What is ETIAS and How Does it Work?
The ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is an electronic travel authorization for citizens of visa-exempt countries who want to visit Europe.
If you’re from a country outside the European Union (EU) and don’t need a visa to visit Europe, you’ll likely need ETIAS. For example, U.S. citizens, Canadians, Australians, and visitors from around 60 other countries will need this authorization.
You apply online using this link, pay a small fee, and get approved within minutes or, at most, a few days. Once approved, your ETIAS will be valid for three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.
